Wacky but Useful Clothes Tips
Find some useful stuff here. Find practical home
tips to keep those clothes going further.
Buttons
Many clothes have expensive buttons which are not
easy to replace. Try sewing them with dental floss and they will not
fall off easily.
If the buttons are already sewn on and you don't
want them to drop off easily, simply apply a drop of clear nail
polish on the thread that secures the button. This nail polish will
dry and harden, securing the button really well.
Some expensive buttons may discolor or fade away
with time. To prevent that from happening, apply a light coat of
transparent nail color on them. This will prevent oxidization and
discoloration.
Clothes Care
With the rains coming on, it is important to
protect those garments. Try keeping a few chalk (calcium carbonate)
in your wardrobe. This will prevent the clothes from getting damp.
Replace after 3- 4 weeks.
If a zip does not run easily and keeps getting
stuck, here is an easy solution. Run the point of a lead pencil over
it. The graphite acts as a lubricant and fixes the zip movement.
Woolen clothes can be preserved by placing some
camphor tablets and cloves between the folds. The clothes can be
kept long without worry with these two ingredients.
Do your clothes stink of perspiration? Dip them
in half a bucket of water to which three aspirin tablets have been
added. Leave for an hour and the offending smells will vanish.
If you want that trouser crease to be really
sharp, rub some candle wax on the reverse of the trouser length and
then iron it the normal way. The crease that will be formed will be
really sharp for that really sharp look.
