Crockery Cleaning Tips
Here are
some easy solutions. A little wacky maybe, but they are practical.
Some stains on that expensive bone china will
just not go. This calls for serious action. Take some nail polish
remover and some cotton wool. Get the cotton wool wet with nail
polish removal and clean that stain. It should now disappear.
Rinse delicate china or precious glass with water
which has a dash of vinegar in it. This will give sparkling results.
At times, that long necked bottle just won't get
clean from the inside. Put some uncooked rice grains into the bottle
and shake till you see the bottle sparkle like new. Do remember to
throw away those rice grains later, as they are no longer edible!
To get rid of black stains ( as a result of over
cooking) on aluminum or steel vessels, try rubbing the vessels with
charcoal pieces. They will shine as new.
The stainless steel utensils and vessels become
dull and dirty with use. Normal cleaning is unable to get rid
of the deposits that have formed over them. To loosen these deposits
of grime and get those vessels shining like new, you need to create
a special cleaning solution. Put 100 grams of bleach in half a
bucket/tub of water and let those utensils soak over night.
The next day wash normally, to find them shining like new.
Greasy utensils can be cleaned very well with
aluminum foil.
If you use plastic containers for storing food
articles, then try rubbing them with a little (cooking) oil before
use. This will prevent food stains.
Get rid of tea and coffee stains on crockery and
utensils by rubbing a little common salt over them and washing them after
10 to 15 minutes. Simple trick that works!
Stains on melamine and glass crockery can also be
removed by applying a little vinegar ( which as a little salt mixed
in) to them. Leave for a while and then wash off with water.
Tea and coffee stains on crockery can also be
removed with
sodium bicarbonate ( baking soda). Take a little soda bicarb on
a wet cloth and rub the stains off. Wash with water and see them
disappear.
Do remember that not all stain removing tricks
will work on all kind of stains. So a little hit and miss is
perfectly acceptable.
