Eggs, Eggs and Eggs
Here are some easy to use egg tricks and tips that
will help your eggs last longer, and go bigger.
Boiled Eggs
Worried about eggs cracking while boiling? Here
is a simple solution. Add a teaspoon of salt or a teaspoonful of
vinegar in the water while boiling them. This will prevent the eggs
from cracking. Another sure shot way is to dip the whole egg in
vinegar and then put it to boil in water. The egg will remain
perfect.
If the egg is already cracked, them put 15 ml
vinegar in water and boil it without fear of it cracking further.
Boiled eggs will last longer if you store the
shelled eggs in a bowl of cold water and refrigerate.
If you want to hard boil multiple eggs, put them
in a pressure cooker, add about 300 ml of water and a teaspoonful of
salt. Pressure cook for 15-20 minutes. The eggs will be done
in bulk.
Slicing a hard boiled egg is not easy. Immerse
the knife in cold water before slicing the egg. This way the yolk
will not crumble and the egg will slice evenly and nicely.
Egg Omelette
I guess most know how to make a basic omelette.
There are many fillings possible and we will not touch on them here.
Here are a few tricks to make that omellete, fluffier, bigger and
tastier.
Eggs blend better at room temperature. To bring
them to a right temperature, it is suggested that they be soaked in
warm water for 10 minutes before blending.
For delicious, fluffier omelettes, whisk the eggs
in a tall mouthed vessel, instead of a flat bowl. This will
enable better blending and generate more foamy stuff creating a much
better fluffier omellette.
To get shapely and fluffy omellete, you may also
add a little (5 gms ) flour while beating the eggs. They will bind
better and have a better shape.
Another way to get that egg to go farther, is to
add a teaspoonful of water to the eggs while beating them. They will
turn out fluffier and larger.
Well, I hope you enjoyed the egg tips.
