Glass Care and Cleaning
Glass can get really difficult to clean. It gets
stained easily and the stains do look ugly. Glass tops on furniture
pieces and elsewhere may also get scratched. It is expensive to
normally replace glass and get those minor scratches fixed.
Minor scratches can also be a source of irritation to people who
like their glass to really shine and sparkle.
Here are some easy glass care tricks and tips
which can be useful to the average householder.
An easy way to clean that bathroom looking glass
is to use a printed newspaper with a little water. Moisten that
newspaper and rub away. The printing ink on the newspaper is
excellent for cleaning glasses. See them sparkle.
Another easy way is to add a little water to used tea leaves and
use this water to clean a dirty glass window. The window panes will
sparkle as the grime vanishes.
Vinegar also works well on paint stains on glass.
Heat a teaspoon of vinegar and apply it with a piece of cloth over
the stained area. Do wait for a few seconds and then rub with a old
newspaper to see the stains vanish.
Greasy windows can be a nightmare to clean.
Create a solution of one tablespoon powdered starch diluted in one
liter of water. Use a cloth to clean the grease off with this
solution. Do remember to dry them off immediately.
If there are minor scratches on that glass
surface then here is a simple solution. Take some (white)
toothpaste and a piece of newspaper. Apply the toothpaste to the
scratched surface and rub slowly with a newspaper. The toothpaste
will act as a light abrasive and smoothen out the scratches.
Here is a stuck glass removal tip. Leave them
overnight in a fridge ( refrigerator ). They will separate easily
the next day.
Looking for a quick solution and can't wait, then
