Stain Free Fabrics and Clothes, Wacky Tricks
In the following paragraphs we will discuss how
to get rid of various stains. Professional fabric stain
removal is a drycleaners job and normally very expensive. Here are
some easy and cheap alternatives.
Keeping clothes white is a challenge especially
if you live in a dusty place with lots of pollution. To create a
natural whitener for your clothes do the following. Dry some lemon
peels and powder them and keep this powder in a box. Add ten grams
of this powder along with detergent soap while washing white
clothes, for sparkling results.
If there is an oil stain on your woolen garment
do not panic. Put a little plain yogurt (curd) over the stain
and rub. Keep aside for a couple of hours and then wash in a soft
(woolen friendly) detergent and the stain will vanish.
To remove lipstick stains from fabric, sponge the
stained area of the garment with a little eucalyptus oil and wait
for an hour or so. Then wash normally with a detergent. Another way
is to rub the area vigorously with glycerin and leave it for an
hour. Wash off after a while and the stain will vanish.
Rust stains are normally difficult to get
rid off. However, for some fabrics there is an easy solution. Dampen
the affected area with lemon juice and expose the garment to
sunlight for an hour and a half. Then wash the garment normally.
If you got bubblegum stuck on clothes do not
worry. Simply rub ice over it and the gum will harden. Now scrape
the gum off the garment.
Wine spills on a garment can be cleaned with
apiece of cloth dipped in club soda. Take action quickly and save
the garment.
Grime and dirt from collars and cuffs are
difficult to remove. An easy solution is to rub in a thick
coating of talcum powder, the night before. Wash normally the next
day and the dirt and grime will get removed easily.
